Hong Kong: A film claiming to be the world's first 3D movie sex groups is to attract Chinese tourists to Hong Kong, a news report said Monday.
Six travel agencies have sought to advance bookings for Chinese tourists to see the 3D movie Sex and Zen, which opens in 2011, according to the South China Morning Post.
The film's producers say 3 million U.S. dollars is already generating a buzz in mainland China, where the sex scenes and nudity are systematically censored.
Producer Stephen Shiu told the newspaper that he had been approached by six travel agents who wanted to organize private screenings and "meet and greet" sessions with cast members.
Half of the box office of the sexually explicit 2007 film Ang Lee, "Lust, Caution" is explained by tourists from China, where the film censored washeavily said Shiu.
Hong Kong is a far freer society in terms of entertainment and publishing, so this is definitely an attraction to the mainland (China) tourists, Rep. Paul Tse said.
More than half of the 30 million visitors to Hong Kong in 2009 came from mainland China has dropped substantially cross-border travel restrictions in recent years.
