Saud Abdulaziz bin Nasser al Saud, 34 a prince from Saudi Arabia has been jailed for life for the brutal murder of his gay lover and servant. Saud's father the famous Prince Abdulaziz was in court. The prince's attack on Bandar Abdulaziz, 32, at the Landmark Hotel, Knightsbridge, West London, was so brutal that pathologists could not say which of the injuries killed him. Prosecutor Jonathan Laidlaw says the prince had abused his aide in the past and that photographs stored on a mobile phone "plainly proved" that there was a "sexual element" to the abuse.
After his release, the prince could seek asylum in Britain as being gay carries the death penalty in Saudi Arabia. Mr Justice Bean told Saud, grandson of the Saudi ruler: "You killed Bandar in the course of a sustained and ferocious assault. He was a vulnerable victim, entirely subjugated to your will."
