OCT.19, TODAY: Brownout schedule within Metro Manila and nearby areas

A three-hour rotating brownout is expected today in areas being serviced by the Manila Electric Company (Meralco) after two power plants broke down. Sual plant supplies a large part to their service areas and while the power plant in Masinloc also broke down last night.

In a radio interview with the head of Meralco’s external communications group, said the power outage will be scheduled because of the lack of power supply coming from Sual plant, which was forced to shut down.

She said the Affected by the rotating brownout, expected between 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., would be residential and commercial clients of Meralco
