Senior Iranian and Lebanese officials on Wednesday signed 17 documents on mutual cooperation in different fields.
The documents were signed by the two countries' officials in a ceremony attended by visiting Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his Lebanese counterpart
Cooperation in agriculture, energy, oil and gas, commerce, handicrafts and tourism, higher education, environment, communication and information technology, modern and media technologies are among the main topics touched in the agreements.
Ahmadinejad arrived in Beirut Wednesday morning to confer with the Lebanese officials on bilateral ties and exchange views over major regional and international issues.
During the two-day visit, which is taking place at the invitation of Lebanese President Michel Suleiman, the two sides are also due to explore avenues for the further expansion of their economic and cultural cooperation.
Tehran and Beirut enjoy friendly and close ties due to Iran's support for the establishment of security and tranquility in Lebanon.
