One militant was killed and several others got serious injuries on Wednesday in a clash with security forces in Ghanam Shah area of tehsil Baizai, while security forces arrested 20 suspicious persons in Bhawta area of tehsil Safi after an attack of militants was repelled, sources told.

Sources told that militants of local Taliban attacked a check post of security forces in Bhawta area of tehsil Safi in the morning. Security forces retaliated and repelled the attack. Later forces carried out a search operation in the area of Safi and arrested 20 suspicious persons.

While in another incident, one militant was killed and several others got injuries in clash with security forces in the border area of Ghanam Shah in tehsil Baizai some 65 kilometers from the regional headquarters, Ghallanai. The said area is considered the hub of Taliban militants where they have accumulated along the western border of Afghanistan.
