Faisal Shahzad is a name that Americans are quite familiar with. He was charged with the attempt to kill people at Times Square by leaving a car containing a home-made bomb. The car was left unattended at the Times Square where the bomb failed to explode, fizzling into non-existence, and consequently failing to injure scores of people present in the vicinity.
Faisal Shahzad pleaded guilty when caught by the FBI agents to several counts of terrorism and possessing weapons. Faisal Shahzad told the judge that America’s downfall was imminent and described himself as a Muslim soldier. Two days after Faisal Shahzad tried to bomb the Times Sqaure, he was stopped by the FBI and the police from boarding a flight to Dubai. Today, Faisal Shahzad was sentenced to a lifetime in prison.
Faisal Shahzad was working as a budget analyst in Connecticut and is a US citizen.
