Party Symbols in Pakistan

The democratic process has begun in Pakistan. Today is election day. The turnout so far has been relatively low around Lahore. There has been reports of violence in the Punjab area. So far over 8 people have been killed by gunfire and over 40 hurt. According to many, the low turnout is attributed to fears of violence.

The campaigns are very colorful. The candidates are represented by symbols like the arrow, the cycle and the tiger. The arrow represents Benazir Bhutto's party. The cycle belongs to Musharraf and the tiger to Nawaz Sharif.

Here are pictures from Lahore, Pakistan covering the Pakistan elections.
