Rachel Brown, Hell's Kitchen Suicide Was Reality TV to Blame?

Hell’s Kitchen an enormously popular TV program lead by top chef Gordon Ramsey claims another suicide.

Joe Cerniglia (39) took his own life by jumping from The George Washington Bridge and was found floating in the Hudson River. Earlier Rachel Brown a contestant in the 2007 Hell’s Kitchen sequel passed away, she took her own life too, by shooting herself in her family home in Dallas Texas. The two death do not seem to have anything in common however they both made appearances on the same show.

Cerniglia was the owner of the New Jersey based Campania Italian restaurant. In the reality show Gordon Ramsey has tried to boost his business, and from the latest reports the restaurant was doing quiet well. He leaves behind wife Melissa Cerniglia and three kids.

Reality shows have changed the way we watch and make television. Dr. Robert Yufit, former president of the American Academy of Suicidology says “My guess is that both of these people had major problems before appearing on the show. I would almost bet that the show itself should not be held responsible. I would say that the show might have tripped off something else that was going on in their lives. “

Sharp-tongued British Gordon Ramsey, the top chef hosting the show, is extremely unhappy with the situation, but was unable to address the media yet. During the program Kitchen Nightmare Ramsey sneered that one day the restaurant would end up in the Hudson river, he could have not been more accurate with his foresight.

Various cooking reality shows are popular around the globe, Hell’s Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmare, Conviction Kitchen and Chef School all show the pressure on the hot plate in this intricate and complex occupation.
