kidney provided by his wife. Less than a month later, he returned to traveling encountered some minor health difficulties which ultimately lead to his recent hospitalization. Many of his friends and family were at the hospital during his final hours including Amy Lambert, Gerald Wolfe, TaRanda Greene, and Dean and Kim Hopper to "sing him into glory."
Tony was born to Everette and Carolyn Greene in Boone, N.C. on October 17, 1968. He began professionally singing Southern Gospel in the early 1980's with his older siblings as The Greenes. They soon became a big hit garnering several No. 1 songs. Apart from spreading his beautiful music across the U.S., Tony was the star success of the Gospel Singing Jubilee multi-day concert held in his hometown of Boone, N.C. which has been a tradition for almost 30 years.
Tony first met his wife when she joined their tour in 1998 and after dating for little more than a year, he memorably proposed on the NQC Mainstage in 2000. Tony married TaRanda in February of 2001 and fathered two children with her, Isabella(6) and Jocelyn(2). Other than his wife and children, he is survived by his mother Carolyn Greene, his brother , sister Kim Greene Hopper, and several nieces. Tony will not be forgotten and will be sorely missed by family and fans alike.
