Rachel Brown Sings "Bring me to Life" at KWC 2005

Rachel Brown, the contestant on Ramsay's "Hell's Kitchen," shot herself to death in her family's Dallas home in 2007. Rachel shot herself a year after coming in fifth on the competition show that pits chefs against each other.

Hell's Kitchen is an American reality-television cooking competition broadcast on FOX. It is hosted by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.

The program debuted on May 30, 2005, and has run every year since on an annual and semi-annual basis. The seventh season of Hell's Kitchen just recently premiered and now it had to face such a controversy. Rachel Brown happens to be an actual contestant and her suicide is bringing negative publicity for Hell’s Kitchen just when its new season premiered, hence there is plenty of debate on media.

Hell's Kitchen is the 2nd highest-rated competitive reality show in the United States, behind Survivor, after Rachel Brown’s death it is suspected that this rating might decrease.
