Bishoy said in a statement yesterday: «I saw my duty to ensure the safety of the country, with its partners from Muslims and Christians, and the Protection of National Unity . So I have to announce that I always advocated the principle of not to offend the religions and their symbols, without prejudice to the Islamic faith in particular because our Muslim brothers are partners in the country .

It is said that Pope Shenouda III, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark Episcopate, the pope decided that appearing in several television interviews, during the next few days, to ease the tension arising from statements made by Bishoy. From another part, the Muslim Brotherhood announced in an official statement that they refused what " Bishoy's remarks, who said that Muslims are guests of the Copts and declared that the priests are ready for martyrdom"

The group also called the church in the statement, signed by her mentor Mohammed Badie, to «declare their refusal and stop the hands of those fanatics, thus it will prevent the social fabric of Egypt not to tear »,

While they are requiring from Muslims to «miss this opportunity to the owners of cases of sedition and have patience».
