Telugu Desam Party Leader Chalasani Pandu from Krishna District has been gruesomely murdered in his apartment after a fierce argument that took place between him and the alleged murderer on Sunday night.
The 54-year-old Chalasani Pandu's dead body was found in his apartment at Madhuranagar-C of S.R.Nagar Monday morning by one of his acquaintances, Fasi, who came to the apartment in the morning and hence the grim murder came to light.
Initial investigations suggest that Chalasani Pandu had consumed liquor and indulged into a fierce argument that turned violent and ended up in the killing of the politician.
Scratches on the body of the victim as well as broken whisky bottles and stains of blood on walls of the apartment suggest that Chalasani Pandu had resisted the killer for long.
Watchman of Pandu's apartment said that Mahender Reddy, the associate of Pandu, was among the last two people who visited Pandu on night of the murder.
When police contacted Reddy, he was not available at his home and had disappeared, strengthening the suspicion of police that Reddy might be involved in the murder.
Also, according to the watchman, Reddy left the apartment hurryingly at 11:15 pm.
