A 28-year-old Tyrolean must have a guardian angel after surviving a 300-metre plunge down a ravine in his car on Saturday.
The man drove along a bendy pass road near the town of Brixen im Thale when he crashed through a roadside barrier and fell around 300 metres.
A local resident called an ambulance after spotting the horrendous incident.
The driver, now recovering in a clinic in St. Johann, suffered several broken bones.
A similar incident occurred in the province on the Achen Lake road on the same day where a 28-year-old driver distracted by writing a text message to his girlfriend careered down a 30-metre embankment.
He was airlifted to the University Clinic of Innsbruck
