Fmr. House Speaker Newt Gingrich on Washington Journal

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich announced today his endorsement of

fellow conservative Mark Leyva, Republican nominee in Indiana's First

Congressional District.

Making today's announcement, Gingrich said, "I am pleased to support Mark

Leyva's candidacy for Congress. It is time to give the voters of

Indiana's First Congressional District real representation in Washington."

In his announcement, Gingrich also highlighted that Mark Leyva who is part

of the tea party movement sees the need for constitutional government,

which he said is needed in Washington.

Welcoming Gingrich's endorsement, Leyva said, "I am blessed and thankful

for Former House Speaker Gingrich's endorsement. This race is not about

Mark Leyva,it is about stopping big government and giving our children a

brighter future. His endorsement gives major credibility to our effort to

convince voters of the First Congressional District that there is a change

needed in the 1st District of Indiana. We both know that Washington is

out-of-control and we need a change of representation here to help take

back our country in November."
