A tribute to Malaysia - Global Finance magazine, named the Governor of Bank Negara, Tan Sri Dr. Zeti Akhtar Aziz as one of the world's best central bank chief over a year ago.
She is among five other central bank chief in five countries and the European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet.
Zeti and six other central bank chief was given a grade "A" in the article on the annual issue of the magazine entitled "Central Banker Report Cards" for success in areas such as inflation control, the target of economic growth, stable currency and interest rate management.
Grades were between A to F, with A the highest, while F is lower. A good performance, and F is a failure, according to Global Finance in a statement today.
Head of other central banks that received the highest grade is the Head of the Central Bank of Australia, Glenn Stevens; Stanley Fischer (Israel); Lee Seong-tae (South Korea); Fai-Nan Perng (Taiwan); Durmus Yılmaz (Turkish) and Trichet ( European Union).
This magazine has readers in 163 countries with offices in London and Milan, in addition to headquarters in New York.
