Gainesville - Pastor Terry Jones of the Dove World Outreach Center received a visit from Federal Officers Thursday September 9, 2010. Although Wayne Sapp the church spokesman would not comment on the meeting.

Terry Jones Pastor of the Dove World Outreach Center met with the FBI today for approximately 30 minutes reports The Associated Press. There are no details so far concerning the meeting as both the church spokesman Wayne Sapp and Federal Agents declined comment to reporters

.According to his spokesman Pastor Jones will make a statement later Thursday on both the FBI meeting and President Obama's comment calling the Koran burning a "stunt."

Gainesville, Florida - Pastor Jones and The Dove World Outreach Center have been in the news and under fire since his announcement in July that he plans hold a protest on 9/11/2010 in which the main event will be burning Islam's most holy text the Koran.

Despite public calls from many prominent religious figures, politicians and military officials concerned with the safety of our troops and citizens along with charity worker around the world to cancel the burning, Mr. Jones said "As of right now, we are not convinced that backing down is the right thing."

Although in an interview with USA Today Jones said that he so far has not been contacted by the White House, Pentagon or the State Department but if contacted "that would cause us to definitely think it over. That's what we're doing right now. I don't think a call from them is something we would ignore."

During the writing of this article I decided to present a little background information on the church and it's history so I tried to access the Dove World Outreach Center website but unfortunately I had no luck. It seems the website has been pulled from the internet by it's web host Rackspace.

Rackspace spokesman Dan Goodgame in an interview with AFP said the Dove World Outreach Center "violated the Offensive Content section of its Acceptable Use policy."

According to interview conducted by AFP Goodgame said: The policy forbids content or links to material that is "excessively violent, incites violence, threatens violence, or contains harassing content or hate speech; and creates a risk to a person's safety or health, creates a risk to public safety or health, compromises national security, or interferes with a investigation by law enforcement."

UPDATE:

In a press conference late this afternoon Pastor Jones has announced that he is abandoning his Koran burning plans Stating that Muslim leaders vowed to relocate the New York mosque to be build near Ground Zero which has been mired in controversy over the past few weeks.

AFP reports Jones saying " The Imam has agreed to move the mosque. We have agreed to cancel our event on Saturday, and on Saturday I will be flying up there to meet with him." Also saying " The American people don't want the mosque there, and, of course, Muslims don't want us to burn the Koran."

Although in the very same article AFP reports organizers of the NY mosque denied the Pastors claim of their decision to relocate the project, saying "We don't know anything about it."

Stay tuned for more updates.
