Boss of Kia Motors, resigned after recalling 18,000 vehicles

South Korea's second largest carmaker, Kia Motors, has said it is recalling about 35,000 vehicles sold in the US

SEOUL - The boss of Kia Motors resigned from his position, because of the responsibility he will be facing after recalling their vehicles.

According to spokesperson Michael Choo, Chung Sung-Eun have already resigned who was also the vice chairman of the Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group.

Beforehand, the 18,000 vehicles of Kia Motors were recalled due to defective electrical wiring.

"The action will affect a total of 18,272 vehicles, including 5,920 units of the Soul hatchback wagon made from Sept. 17, 2009 to June 8, 2010, 6,744 units of the K7 sedan manufactured between Dec. 11, 2009, and July 1 2010, and 4,305 units of the Sorento sport utility vehicle and 1, 303 units of the Mohave SUV, both produced between the period from Sept. 1, 2009 to July 1 2010," proclaimed in the statement of the Ministry of Land, Transportation and Maritime Affairs.

It was mentioned that the repair services are free to all the owners of the said kind of vehicle in Kia's service centers starting on Thursday.

It is also possible for their customers just to reimburse their expenses who voluntarily let their brought vehicles be fixed all defects.
