Bethany Storro, the woman who had acid thrown in her face, is recovering at LegacyHospital burn unit in Portland, Or. after undergoing surgery Wednesday, to remove dead skin from her face.
On that fateful Monday evening, August 30, Bethany, 28, was approached by a woman she didn't know, outside a Starbucks here.
The woman who was holding a glass asked her, “Hey pretty girl, do you want to drink this?,” and threw the liquid at Bethany's face.
The random and violent attack will leave Bethany disfigured for life and requiring more surgeries, but she's grateful she wasn't blinded. Her eyes were protected by a pair of sunglasses she had bought a few hours before the incident.
The attacker is described as a black woman in her late 20s, wearing a green shirt and khaki shorts.
When asked what she would say to her attacker, Bethany said, "I would say, 'did you wake up and say 'I'm going to carry some acid in a cup and throw it on the first person I see?"
