Al Gore’s "An Inconvenient Truth” inspired Hostage-taker at Discovery Channel Headquarters

Disgusted about Discovery Channel’s programming, a gunman took hostages at its headquarters Wednesday, AP reports. The gunman is said to have metallic canisters strapped to his body.

As of this writing police are negotiating with the hostage-taker. The gunman was identified as James J. Lee who had previously protested outside the building. He was arrested in 2008 after he threw thousands of dollars in the air.

According to reports, Lee has planned the protest because Discovery Channel has done nothing to save the earth. He was believed to have inspired by a novel “Ismael” by environmentalist Daniel Quinn and Al Gore’s documentary “An Inconvenient Truth.” After he was laid off from work, he started working to save the planet.

Lee said at the time that he experienced an ‘‘awakening” when he watched former Vice President Al Gore’s environmental documentary ‘‘An Inconvenient Truth.”
