What is it with all of the non-PC blunders lately? Add journalist Rick Sanchez of CNN, to the list. Sanchez referred to Barack Obama as the “cotton picking president” Monday night.

The comment came from a discussion with CNN correspondent Jessica Yellin on “Rick’s List.” The conversation became heated when discussing falsehoods about the president. It was at that moment when Sanchez said, "He is the cotton picking president of the United States! If the president of the United States doesn't have enough of a bully pulpit to convince people that...a lie is a lie...what the hell is going on here?"

Immediately realizing what he said, Sanchez apologized to Yellin, the president and the audience. Tweets were Twittering all over the place over the blunder.

“You know I didn't even realize it?" he said. "I was just saying 'cotton picking' because it's a term that I've used because I grew up in the South...however, I apologize for using it, in case it was taken by anyone as an act of disrespect."

What a non-story. It's so immediately evident he used "cotton pickin'" as a stand in for "'effing" or "god-dammed" or some other such emphatic term. This is the problem with the political climate - everyone seizes on the smallest, dumbest things as an excuse to rile the masses. People need to to just firm up a little bit and quit being such cotton-pickin' pussies.

I do not think he meant anything,I say cotton picking all the time it is just a phrase from the old days as xylem said it is effing. Everybody is so damn politically correct and are just not foccusing on the big picture. People need to just lighten up.
Barck Obama as much as I like him needs to become a person who feels the pulse of the people. He should be using his power more. He is not effective in getting his message out.Had he been the right would not be up 10 points.
Some people are not aware of phraseology and a lack of knowledge is a dangerous thing.
I do not watch the ignorance which is CNN so I am happy the story was posted to really confirm which I believe is the ever growing ignorance of people.
