The University of Leeds has conducted a study on 300 lap dancers in night clubs and the results give us a peep into their world. The study has revealed that lap dancers are not people who have risen from the dust – 25% of them possess qualifications of degrees and have chosen this profession because of not just the attraction of money but because it is also a platform to break into the world of glamour. They aspire to enter the glittering tinsel world and lap dancing is an option because it pays well – their average annual earnings range between 24 to 48K pounds sterling. In spite of possibilities of exploitation, many lap dancers have a high degree of satisfaction with their jobs and cited as flexibility as the main attraction of the job.
