Kenner police looking a thief who is impersonating a policeman

WWL.com Kenner Louisiana. Kenner police are looking for a suspect who is impersonating a police officer by grabbing motorists wallets and then fleeing the scene. It has happened three times since April 2010. The dates of the incidents have occured on April 11, 2010 on the 700 block of Hansen Street when a Ford F Series truck stopped a motorist at a Fuelman station and showed the motorist his badge and then took the victim's wallet and drove off. The second incident occured on August 14, 2010 on the 800 block of Daniel Street with the same Ford F Series truck asking the motorist for their wallet and then fleeing the scene with the victim's wallet. The third incident occured on August 21, 2010 in the 3400 block of Connecticut Avenue when the Ford F Series truck stopped a motorist showed his badge and weapon asked the motorist for his wallet and then fled the scene. The suspect is described as an African American male about 20-30 years old ,between 5 ft 8 inches tall to 6 ft 1 inch tall and weighs about 170-200 pounds. Kenner police have photographs of the suspects truck and Kenner police chief Steve Caraway has asked the public if they have any information on this case to call the Kenner Police Department at (504)-712-2222 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
