The game Mafia 2 by 2k Games will put vintage Playboy covers and centerfolds in their games to show the significance of this magazine in the culture of that generation
The new upcoming game Mafia 2 by 2K Games has announced that it will feature vintage Playboy covers and centerfolds in the game. The idea to include the Playboy pictures in Mafia 2 was generated so that an element of authenticity could be added to the game.
Mafia 2 is staged in the 1940s and 1950s and during that time, Playboy magazine had recently come in vogue and it had a huge impact on that generation.
Mafia 2’s producers, 2K Games have struck a licensing agreement with Playboy magazine according to which Playboy will provide more than 50 of its branded caps and centerfolds for a unique in-game integration.
Christoph Hartmann, President of 2K said: “In partnership with Playboy, we can add a unique element of authenticity to the game with vintage images from the magazine, which illustrate the power of influence Playboy’s attitude and culture of that generation. Although the focus of the most lynchings inspired game exclusively on the action, Mafia II has a deep and compelling story, which is decorated with complicated, age, causing the atmosphere.”
