Karachi: At least 20 people were killed Monday when a bus turned turtle in a flood hit area of near Deara Ghazi Khan.

According to the official sources, strong water currents in flood-hit the bus, killing 20 people.

The accident took place near Khad Buzdar village which is badly hit by flood. The bus, which had 50 people on board, was bound for the northwestern city of Peshawar.

The local emergency rescue service, told media that 10 people were rescued, however some are still missing, for them the search operation was on.

the route had been closed overnight due to the danger of torrents of water from nearby hills but that the bus driver ignored the warning, said one district official of Dera Ghazi Khan.
