Runaway couple, John McCluskey and Classyn Welch was arrested in Arizona today near the town of Spingerville. Arrest of the fugitive couple, John McCluskey and Welch, is much owed to a forest service ranger, who saw the vehicle used by the couple near an unattended campfire in the Apache Sitgreaves National Forest.
Upon this discovery, the ranger called the local authorities and police, who reached the site to verify. Soon it was confirmed that it was indeed John McCluskey and Classyn Welch. It turned out that the vehicle was stolen.
Sherriff's SWAT reached the site to interact with the couple. Within a couple of hours, the police was able to put a team together and arrest John McCluskey and Classyn Welch safely without getting anyone hurt.
John McCluskey had a gun in his possession and later said in a statement that he wishes he had shot the ranger who had spotted them.
John McCluskey and Classyn Welch were arrested after three weeks of manhunt. They were two of the top most wanted fugitives in the U.S.
