Britain's Andy Murray defeated No. 1 Rafael Nadal of Spain in the first semifinal of the Rogers Cup in Toronto on Saturday. Murray beat top-seed Nadal 6-3, 6-4. Murray will play the winner of Sunday’s semifinal match between Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.

Murray’s strong baseline game kept the pressure on Nadal and lead him to victory. His wins against Nadal have improved to 4-8. Murray hopes to become the first men's player to win consecutive Rogers Cup championships since Andre Agassi successfully defended his title in 1995.
