Malaysian policemen stand guard in Kuala Lumpur

12 August 2010 – Kuala Lumpur Malaysia / Singapore – The World Health Organization announced yesterday that the swine flu or H1N1 is under control and they have taken the pandemic world wide declared as no longer existing.

However the report from the WHO is conclusive for world wide use, Both the Malaysian and Singaporean Health Ministries have announced to handle with care. Malaysia is not yet ready to let its guard down on this highly infectious disease.

Malaysian Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong directed Health Director General Tan Sri Dr. Ismail Marisan to continue surveillance and monitoring of the fast spreading disease. At the same time preventive measures are still taken also in the near future. Vaccinating the risk groups as sick and elderly people will be an ongoing procedure, regardless the recommendations from WHO.

Liow Tiong said; “we will not relax and keep encouraging people to come in for vaccinations”.

Both Malaysia and Singapore were according to the WHO in high risk areas for the swine flu virus.

Malaysia & Singapore are doing good for the interest of their country as they are tourist destination and they don't want to take risk of infecting & spreading swine flu . More and more country should try to take the cue from them and do the same.
