A baseball fan now infamously known as “Bo the Bailer” has become an internet hit after being caught on television trying to avoid catching a ball that then struck his girlfriend
It started out just a typical Major League Baseball game where the Houston Astros and the Atlanta Braves were playing. Until Astros Third Baseman Chris Johnson drove a foul ball in the direction of a couple sitting in left-field.
Instead of catching the ball or taking the brunt of the hurling object though, the boyfriend (Bo) moved away to the right, letting his girlfriend (Sarah) take a direct hit from the foul ball.
Later a television reporter interviewed the couple while at the game.
"As soon as we got here and I saw where we were sitting, I said 'Baby, we're going to get hit,'" Sarah said.
"He said, 'No, I'll catch it if you do. We just had this conversation and sure enough, the ball comes at me. He just bailed."
After the embarrassing interview at break, everything, as they say, is internet history — the two minute clip has gone viral. The YouTube clip of “Bo the Bailer” has nearly 60,000 views as of Tuesday night and has already been featured on SportsCenter.
There’s already a Facebook Page dedicated to the guy.
Anyway, the Astros won.
