The photo of the new Philippine President Benigno Aquino III receiving his first salary as the highest official in the land has received so much attention not only in the media but in various social network sites as well.

From his monthly basic pay of around USD2,100.00 (PhP95,000.00), 34% was automatically deducted, leaving him with USD1,398.03 (PhP63,002.17) as take home pay.
