MANILA, Philippines – Storm signal number 1 was raised in the provinces of Cagayan, Isabela, and Aurora as Typhoon “Domeng” increased its speed, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Wednesday.
As of 11 a.m., Domeng accelerated to 15 kilometers, with a maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour in the center. The typhoon is expected to be 330 km east of Aparri, Cagayan on Thursday morning.
Meanwhile, another low pressure area was seen 700 kilometers east northeast of Basco, Batanes.
By Thursday morning, Domeng is expected to be 330 kms east of Aparri, Cagayan and at 120 kms north of Aparri, Cagayan by Friday morning.
Domeng is forecast to be 360 kms west of Basco, Batanes by Friday morning, Pagasa said.
