The old traditional game of Spanish culture of bull fighting is said to be abolished in the northeastern part of Catalonia followed by a passionate movement by animal right activities.

The “outdated and cruel” game has also been seized by the national of Catalan as a mean of showing independence from the growing political uneasiness in between the government at national and regional level.

The anti Bull-fighting group who started the campaign was named as “Prou!” Or in English language it is called as “enough!” The protest has won the international support and not only this, the movement of anti bullfighting got the backing of the world top comedian Ricky Gervais along with the actress Pamela Anderson.

The World Society for the Protection of Animal (WSPA) has collected more than 140,000 signature worldwide to support the campaign to stop bull fighting, Mike Baker says,” This week, the world is watching Catalonia” he further added,” Local MPs have the chance to make a bold statement about the region's modern attitude by refusing to allow the continuance of this outdated and cruel practice."

This ban will only affect the bull fighting and will not exceed to the other cultural activities related to bulls such as "corre bou" which happens during festivals and considered as an art of Catalan culture.
