Vazhachal Waterfalls: The Vazhachal Waterfalls is just a five-kilometer drive form the Athirappally Waterfalls. It also a part of the Chalakkudy river. Near the Vazhachal Waterfalls, you can get valuable samples of herbs, honey and herbal soaps at a low price at the Moolika Vanitha Swasraya Samithi. Those who love the delicious Kerala food can satisfy their appetite by enjoying the ethnic Kerala backwaters food like idiyappam, fish molee and fish biriyani at the canteen in the surrounding area of the Vazhachal waterfalls. How to reach there: The nearest metro is Cochin. You can reach the Cochin International Airport, Nedumbassery by cheap flight, which is at a 55 km distance from the Athirappally Waterfalls. From the airport, you can take a drive through the NH 47, which will lead you to the Chalakkudy junction. A right turn from the junction will be the Athirappally road, which will lead you to the waterfalls. The best time for visiting the waterfalls is between September and February, at the end of the monsoon season. The visitors’ time is between 8 a.m and 6 p.m. This area is declared as the plastic free zone. Visitors are prohibited from giving food to the animals. Visitors are also advised not to engage in smoking, alcohol consumption and swimming.

Charpa Falls: It is located in the eastern direction of the Athirappally waterfalls. It is an equally scintillating waterfall in India but it is less famous compared to the Athirappally waterfalls.
Anakkayam: It is a Malayalam word, which means “elephant pit”. Anakkayam is located on the Sholayar – Peringalkuthu route, about twenty km from Chalakkudy. It makes the visitor s happy with the sight of the cool placid lake located here. This place can definitely boast of its virgin natural beauty, which is not at all disturbed by human encroachments.
