Love Parade Stampede: 19 people died and 342 were injured

The organizers of the annual Love Parade festival held in Duisburg, Germany have decided to stop the festivals immediately. The decision has been taken consequent to the stampede that killed a least 20 revelers and injured hundreds – the dead include at least six foreigners from Spain, Bosnia, the Netherlands, Australia, Italy and China. The Mayor Adolf Sauerland faced furious mobs when he went to the site of the stampede to express his sympathies to the mourners – he was literally chased away. People hold the Mayor responsible for the chaos and stampede.
