My Descent into the Inner Recesses of THE MIND!

While typing my very first "news story", I am listening to something that is supposedly all the rage called binaural beats I discovered only yesterday on G4.com. The power of suggestion may be a powerful thing, but in my opinion sound waves can alter all sorts of things in ones mind, emotionally or physically. Caution must be taken however in believing such things, for as I mentioned before, suggestion can make shit get real. Someone might post a looping video of an exploding horse and claim it releases the bowels of the soul (whatever that might entail) and half the people watching will report a feeling of intense relief.

Off the subject of flammable equestrians, let us delve once more into the trippy world of ear drugs with a 10 minute youtube video called, "The Gates of Hades". It's apparently chock full of beta and theta and alpha waves whatever that means, and produces a marijuana-like high. For you, the reader, I put my body on the line in the name of reporting the truth. I began listening with my headphones on and after a few minutes I was soaring across the universe's sky on a transparent unicorn made of toblerones. Except those of you who have any sense at all will realize that didn't happen. It started out calm but after a few minutes the smooth tone transformed suddenly into a screech like a fox being cheese-grated to death. Since it took place very late at night I couldn't help but have the shit scared out of me.

My dedication to you is stronger then that though! So I ventured bravely on, sampling all types of videos with all types of different waves and finally made my decision on the subject. Those readers who are observational will know that I did think I felt something. While listening to these videos I had trouble focusing on things like writing, or getting to sleep. Maybe it was the indian flutes blaring in my ears. Or maybe it was the indian flutes, blaring in my mind. It was the former. Truthfully, if it was that big of a deal, they'd ban it for some ridiculous reason like they did marijuana.

Believe what you want to believe, do what you want to do, have your own opinion. It apparently works for a lot of others, so try something new if you hadn't already. To those who read, thank you.
