On Friday 9th July, Tel Aviv's beachfront rocked with the sounds of live music and famous DJ's as massive lorries, loaded with rock, R'n'B, pop and more, rolled slowly along Herbert Samuel street, finally arriving at the main stage in the Charles Clore Garden. The sea was azure and the warm, soft, white sand lapped by the gentle sea provided the perfect backdrop. The crowd wore iconic blue bandanas handed out by main sponsors Pelephone and if you were dancing you could receive a free energy drink by Red Bull. A relaxed, crowd turned out complementing the usual, smooth, Friday atmosphere of the first day of Israel's weekend.
DJ's from Radio Tel Aviv (102 fm) kicked off the party on the stage, and racked up the atmosphere, until the trucks arrived. At about 4pm the audience jumped in one rhythm to the amazing energy of Balkan Beatbox! Despite the intense heat of the sun (it was around 30 degrees C), the garden became an instant dance venue. The sounds continued with DJ Skazi and the famous singer, Muki.
This is the Tel Aviv that everyone loves. The one city in the Middle East that truly knows how to make you feel good, proved again its worldwide reputation for fun in the sun. Yes Israelis really know how to party!
