This weekend, July 10th and 11th 2010, is the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in San Francisco. Last year over 2700 people walked over 39 miles and raised over 6 million dollars in support of those living with breast cancer as well as research, education and prevention.
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, in 2006, 191,410 women were diagnosed with breast cancer and 40,820 women died from it. Breast cancer is the second most common form of cancer in women and education and prevention is key in bringing the above statistics down.
This years Avon Walk for Breast Cancer stretches just over 39 miles through the weekend and will travel through some of San Francisco's most amazing places. It start an ends in Park Presidio with a over night stay in the Wellness Village located near McLaren Park.
