The big question amongst the press is who gets to sit inThomas’ chair. The almost ninety year old press woman, who vacated her position with the press corp. under duress over anti-Semitic remarks; seems to hold a prized possession: a chair.
Fox News and Bloomberg News have been fighting for the coveted spot, front row center, likeover Lakers’ seats. The possibility that Thomas’ position held more credence than often thought, is valued over her seat at press conferences.
Debate as to who is entitled to the coveted position has turned into a nasty “Royale” without the ropes and half-nelson holds. Fox states, “..we were promised the seat when she (Helen Thomas) retired.” This was back in 2007, when the octogenarian wasn’t about to leave. Bloomberg warns against, “awarding a seat because of earlier sentiments.”
Who will win the battle of the cushion? Which news organization will sit close enough to touch the President’s shoe? With all the other turmoil in the world; wouldn’t it be nice if this was all we had to worry about?
