Members of the St. John Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club will hold their annual community Corn Roast on Friday, August 13, 2010 from 4-8pm. The event will take place on the lawn at the Community Hospital Outpatient Centre at the corner of Wicker Avenue (Route 41) and 97th Lane in St. John. Last year’s event was a tremendous success with over 2,500 local residents in attendance!
According to Margo Babineaux, president of the St. John Chamber of Commerce, “A large portion of the proceeds from the corn roast will be put back into our community in the form of college scholarships through the St. John Chamber and the Schererville Rotary. By attending the Corn Roast, residents themselves are helping to make a difference in our community.”
The Corn Roast is a fantastic community event and provides fun for the entire family. Those coming out to enjoy this year’s event will receive a sandwich (hot dog or polish), chips, beverage and ALL THE CORN THEY CAN EAT! There will also be a live band, vendor booths and children’s activities. This is a great community event for the entire family. Tickets are available for $5.00 in advance at all St. John financial institutions or by calling the chamber office at (219) 365-4686. Tickets will also be available at the door for $7.00.
The St. John Chamber of Commerce is located in St. John, Indiana and hosts many community events throughout the year. For more information about the St. John Chamber of Commerce and this event, visit their Web site at www.stjohnchamber.com.
