Saint Josemaria Escriva de Balaguer was born on January 9, 1902. He was a Roman Catholic priest from Spain and founder of Opus Dei in 1928. He wanted to spread the message that all people are called to live holy lives. He died on June 26, 1975, and was canonized by Pope John Paul II in Rome on 2002 before an audience of about 300,000 people.

He had a doctorate in civil law at the University of Madrid and a doctorate in theology at the Lateran University in Rome.

His best known book is The Way, which has sold more than five million copies in 50 languages.

Today, June 26, we are celebrating his Feast day. To those who believe in intercessions, today is one of the best days to ask for St. Josemaria's intercession. Whatever you may want from Jesus, you may ask help from St. Josemaria so he can help you pray.

Miracles do happen. I am a witness to it. I had a personal request and he really helped me pray to God that it will be granted. If you want to read about the miracle that made him a saint, you can check this site (http://www.opusdei.us/art.php?p=2593).
