[June 24]--Methane gas occurs naturally in ocena waters, but too much of it can lead to oxygen depletion and the eventual death of all sea life. Microbes that have recently been feeding on the methane near the BP 'spill' are called ice-worms, which consume all the oxygen around them without having to worry about any kind of predator. They have none.
Not only can life no longer be sustained, but the breakdown of oil seises to continue.
The second, and more decastating fact about methane, is the bubble of doom awaiting states surrounding the Gulf Coast. Methane bubbles like this have been suspected of taking boats and airplanes to their death in the Bermuda Triangle.
Ecologists believe that this particular methane bubble will, however, bring more devestation to Florida, Georgia, Texas, and Louisiana than anything else in modern human history. The population of Florida could easily be wiped out with this single bubble, engulfing the Sunshine State with 400 MPH tsunami winds.
Is this what the Mayans predicted?
