Red Butte Creek has seen its share of oddities in the past ten days; oil, dead fish, and now a body. A badly decomposed corpse was found by Chevron workers today. Trying to clear the oil from the creek, a body floated to the top, while flushing water through the river. The remains were entangled in brush and debris, thought to be caused by the rushing water released from a dam above the creek.
The body was so decomposed that officials were not able to determine the gender. Clothing was found, but details were not released. A Chevron worker found the body at approximately 11 am today, while clearing brush from the area. The worker saw a human foot protruding from the debris, just below Red Butte Garden.
Officials believe the body to be that of an adult. No other information was available at the time of this report.
