In 2000, Jim Varney who played the Toy Story Favourite, Slinky Dog passed away from lung cancer. He died shortly after the 2nd film was released and many fans of his character were sad to see the gravely voiced star go. When Disney anounced that their was going to be a 3rd Toy Story movie, the biggest question in everyone's mind was, "What about Slinky Dog?"

It took Disney awhile too find the perfect voice for Slinky Dog, they had been looking for the right rasp and the right soul. But the right voice was not far from Jim Varney. Blake Clark a close and long time friend of Varney, go the part.

Blake Clark might not be a familar name, but you can see him in many billy madison movies such as The Waterboy, and in 50 first dates. He also was in Joe Dirt and The Benchwarmers.

Jim Varney is famous for his role as Ernest. Toy Story 3 comes out this friday so enjoy the new Slinky Dog, because producers said that, Blake Clark, "Channels his friend Varney."
