The leader of radical Albanian Self-determination movement Albin Kurti believes the current system, based on Marrti Ahtisaari’s Plan for Kosovo, can be changed, and expects the changes to take place after the elections next year.
Earlier this week, Kurti was released after his weekend arrest as the District Court in Pristina charged him with a nine-month sentence, taking into consideration the time he had already spent in prison. He will now be able to prepare for the elections, where he will offer the “corruption clear” candidates, the Pristina-based media reported.
Kurti announced the Self-determination movement will run for the parliamentary elections in Kosovo next year, which are based on the Marrti Ahtisaari’s Plan for Kosovo, though he doesn’t recognize the plan itself.
With regard to the trial where he was convicted of "participating in a group obstructing official persons in performing their duties", Kurti said the Eulex was so discredited by what was been happening during the weekend of his arrest that it wanted to finish with the trial it as soon as possible.
