Man Amputates Own Arm To Escape Furnace

The world is searching the internet for Jonathan Metz, who had his left arm trapped in a furnace for two days. There was no way to get the arm out. Before the arm would start decaying, Jonathan Metz took a brave action and amputated his own arm and freed himself.

Jonathan Metz was stranded in his basement and with his left arm stuck in his furnace. It was cutting off circulation of the arm directly. Jonathan Metz is in recovery. He is stable, but he will need plastic surgery to get skin grafts. It was Jonathan Metz’s quick thinking and the strength to take matters in his own hand that he is alive today.

After Jonathan Metz amputated himself, the Amputee Coalition of America was contacted. According to ACA figures, almost 1.7 million Americans live without a limb. One out of 200 people in America have an amputation. ACA works to educate, inform and encourage the people who have gone through amputation. The doctors say that Jonathan Metz saved his life himself. A person as courageous as Jonathan Metz is an inspiration for everyone today.
