Rajneeti Movie Review

The movie simply rocked in every scene and was an edge of the seat story, all throughout. But what made the script of the movie a real success, was the fact that the foundation of the script is based on one of the most successful scripts in the history of the Indian civilization - The Mahabharata, and yet the movie goes in unexpected and unpredictable directions, thereby drawing from all without being a byproduct of anything and managing to stand uniquely on its own merits.

Ranbir Kapoor plays - Arjuna

Ranbir and Arjun Rampal's mom plays - Kunti

Naseeruddin Shah plays - Surya Dev who gave Kunti a child out of wedlock

Ajay Devgan plays - Karna

Manoj Bajpayee plays - Duryodhana

Nana Patekar plays - Sri Krishna - Arjuna's Charioteer

Chandra Pratap Singh - Dhritarashtra

Bhanu Pratap Singh - Pandu

Ajay Devgan's mom and dad's characters who play driver family to Manoj Vajpayee's ruling political family in the film, is similar to Karna's mother and father Radha and Adiratha, where Adiratha is Dhritarashtra's charioteer and so on and so forth, the analogies are endless if you dig into the details

If you think this review is a spoiler, forget about the idea

The movie has so much more - This is just the beginning of the story

Watch out for stellar performances by: Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpayee, Nana Patekar

Great supporting star cast: Ajay Devgan, Sarah Thompson

A bold and debonnaire Shruti Seth shocks the gut out of the audience, shedding her girl-next-door image during her erotic overtures with Arjun Rampal.

Arjun Rampal is the big surprise package in the film: He has proved that Rock On, Houseful and his other recent hits were not just flukes. He is amorous in his outings with Shruti Seth, volatile in his temperament in political circles, and yet vulnerable as the ever-sacrificing and ever-accommodating husband.

Disappointingly Katrina Kaif has been allotted the role of a dumb girl, which she plays well, given the fact that her character doesn't have much scope in the movie. She has to be dumb, blindly in one-sided love, a scape goat, and in the end, for a change a resilient politician with restraint, which is a little relief for her character in the movie.

Prakash Jha has once again come out with a masterpiece in his hands.

Want to know how the story finally unfolds? Go and find out now!!

The movie easily scores an 8 on 10.
