Many here may not know whois. So, here is a small Denis Gabor biography.
Dennis GBG Gabor (1900-1979) was Hungarian-British Physicist who received Nobel Prize Award in 1971 for his amazing discovery of Holography.
Dennis’s Holography is actually the art of recording the light from an object and then reconstructing it so that it appears as if the object is in the same position relative to the recording medium as it was when recorded.
The reason here to mention Dennis Gabor’s biography is that the contributions made by the famous physicist during his lifetime continue to help mankind till date.
Holography is very commonly used in data storage, security, art, hobbyist activities, holographic interferometer and other applications such as 3D pictures, DVD recorders, and hologram stickers on mobile phone batteries.
Google is celebrating 110th birthday of Dennis Gabor today for his great contribution to physics.
More can be learned about him by reading Dennis Gabor’s autobiography, in which he has told that how much he was fascinated by the world of physics.
