Another comedy that promotes the myth that men cannot be victims of sexual assault is Get Him to the Greek. Like Wedding Crashers, this movie portrays women as sexual playthings throughout the film. However, in one particular scene, a woman who looks the part of a sexual plaything adopts the role of a sexual predator. After approaching Aaron, the woman, who remains unnamed to further develop her dual role as predator and plaything, is encouraged to take Aaron to a private room. Aaron reluctantly goes, but maintains verbally that they are just going to talk. This role reversal, with the woman being the sexual aggressor, is meant to be funny. However, when the woman gets on top of him and begins slapping him with a dildo, unzipping his pants against his will, it becomes clear that an assault is about to take place. The scene cuts back to the main room, where there are drugs being passed around. Aaron returns a few minutes later, telling them he has just been raped. Rather than come to his aid, like an outcry witness is supposed to do, his companions offer him drugs and laugh at his claims. Although the scene is supposed to be humorous, it fails to drive the plot in any way, and does nothing for character development, other than making his companions even less likable. Like the scenes in Wedding Crashers, the scene in Get Him to the Greek tells audiences that men cannot be raped. This idea is harmful to male survivors and will likely prevent future victims from reporting assaults.
