Pakistan's English language newspaper The News, in a story datelined June 5, reported that the Lahore High Court judges President Musharraf deposed on November 3, 2007 by declaring an emergency were reluctant to receive their salaries from the Prime Minister's discretionary fund. Contending that they had been illegally removed from office, they remained judges of the High Court and were entitled to receive their salaries from the proper account. Accepting the salary from the Prime Minister's discretionary fund would be tantamount to receiving charity.
