A man was murdered over a cigarette. He refused to give another man a cigarette. As 26 year old Lisney Oliveira of Boca Raton was on his way to a Miami night club, the suspect Sosthene Louis knocked him to the ground by delivering a forceful punch, said the police. Oliveira was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital, who later died from his injuries.
Oliveira and his friend were walking to the night club, when a man approached the two and asked them for a cigarette. All of a sudden, the man punched Oliveira. The friend said Oliveira's head violently knocked the sidewalk as he fell. As he fell, his head hit the sidewalk. The later became the cause of his death. The suspect fled the scene.
Police reported that Oliveira and his friend tried to keep walking after telling the assailant that they had no cigarettes, but the heavy man dropped Oliveira to the ground with just one punch.
Oliveira's family reported to NBC Miami that the Brazilian native loved the Miami club scene and loved dancing. Oliveira’s father Lisney Oliveira Sr. said, "At least I know he lived an amazing 26 years, and he lived it intensely."
Nearby surveillance camera helped police catch the attacker. Now he will face charges on what he did. 35 year old Sosthene Louis was arrested a couple days later.
