A ruptured, smoking suitcase removed from an outgoing international flight is being examined by fire crews and bomb specialists at Houston's busiest airport.
Officials say luggage was being loaded onto an Amsterdam-bound KLM flight Tuesday when a baggage handler atIntercontinental Airport found a suitcase that appeared to have ruptured with smoke coming from it.
The handler carried the bag away from the plane and terminal and called emergency crews. Assistant Fire Chiefsays bomb crews hit the suitcase with a water gun and still were examining it late Tuesday afternoon.
Williams says there was no explosion and no injuries.
